Pixar Pier Details Emerge for DCA, Coming April 13 and Summer 2018

11/2/2017 8:52:34 PM

Details have emerged for the newly  made-over Pixar Pier, replacing Paradise Pier in DCA.  Many areas of the pier and attractions will go down January 8 for renovation, so that they can reopen in time for Pixar Fest on April 13, and then permanently in the summer of 2018.  Pixar Pier will include 4 new lands, and a new makeover for the current California Screamin as the Incredicoaster.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the new pier area will feature an Incredibles neighborhood, with the newly themed coaster (currently Screamin') as its anchor, Toy Story Neighborhood (around Toy Story Mania), an Inside Out neighborhood featuring a family-friendly attraction (at a future date), and a combined celebration area, including Games of the Boardwalk, Mickeys Fun Wheel, which will be rethemed with a different Pixar movie character for each gondola (though Mickey will remain on the face).

In preparation for this makeover, many attractions and restaurants will close January 8th.  This includes California Screamin', Mickeys Fun Wheel, and the popular Ariel's Grotto and Cover Bar, which will reopen as a new lounge and grill with views of Paradise Bay.  All attractions should reopen for Pixar Fest on April 13th and be in full operation for Summer 2018, and some will have temporary re-openings for short periods of time.   Pixar Fest will bring Paint the Night to DCA, and a new fireworks show and Pixar Play Paradise to Disneyland Park.  Those seeking World of Color Dining Packages after January 7th can still do so at Wine Country Trattoria and Carthay Circle.

The remaining pier attractions - Jumpin Jellyfish, Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Goofy's Sky School, Golden Zephyr, and Silly Symphony Swings will remain open as a separate land from Pixar Pier known as Paradise Park.  As always, lots is going on for Disneyland Resort and we're excited about these new developments for DCA!
