So we just got back from a weeks long vacation and was just wondering everyone’s thoughts on alcoholic beverages in the park, at California Adventure there were a lot of people who were drunk and sloppy it was a little irritating to constantly smell beer in every line we were in from the people around us, personally I think that Disney should have a limit on drinks per person maybe by scanning their Disneyland pass and keeping track like that? Just a thought, I’m all for having fun and enjoying yourself responsibly I just think there should be a limit.

personally I have never really seen anyone sloppy or visibly impared. I enjoy being able to have a drink or two and have no problem with it.

I’m with Evil Queen. I’ve never seen anyone sloppy, impaired or actually even smelled it on anyone and let’s be honest, at the prices, I can’t see anyone affording to get sloppy unless they’re a serious lightweight. lol besides, even if it were not available or limited in the park, there’s no limiting at the restaurants in DTD and they’re building the new brewery in DTD and a bar/restaurant is not going to stop people from getting drunk outside the parks and going in to the parks. I could drink in my room by running down to CVS and then going in. People who want to be drunk in the parks are not limited by being served in the park.

I agree with you Evil Queen. I do not drink so I am somewhat sensitive to it. That being said I’ve never had anyone bother me or seen anyone acting irresponsibly.

I agree with you Dianarenee, I also think it has got worse. We have also witnessed a few people who obviously can't handle their drink. Don't really see the point of getting drunk at an amusement park.

This was the first time it’s happened to us and this couple specifically standing behind us were double fisting beers in a 2 hour wait for Guardians they took turns going back and forth with 2 beers each time and the whole time she was talking super dirty about what was gonna go on after they left the park, I mean super provocative and all we could think about was we didn’t want to ride with them and get thrown up on lol

Dianarenee
Well I’m happy I’m not the only who saw this happening and yes we did spend a lot of money, there were a total of 25 of us like I said I’m all up for having fun but there were quite a few belligerent people and it kinda ruined it

In my opinion, they seemed to be going for a more “adult” vibe in CA Adventure. To me the whole park, rides & attractions are more akin to a universal studios or Knotts ish experience. My kids are small and even when bugs land was around it felt like there was a lack of things to do. With the food and wine fest and other more adult oriented events, it seems to me Disney is trying to get the best of both worlds. If you’re looking for a few more thrills and bigger rides you can hit CA adventure and drinks are available for those who would like them. Of course they have some kiddie stuff too but that’s clearly not the focus. For me I tend to only go to DLR it fits the experience me and my family are shooting for and we have a great time. A couple times a year I’ll take my oldest son and do a “big ride day at CA adventure. I don’t drink and don’t like interacting with those who have over indulged but it is a theme park with 10’s of 1000’s of people in it so there’s bound to be a bit of that. In the summer I’m often aghast at how people dress in DL and don’t feel it’s family appropriate either but we’ve got to steer our families around a lot of nonsense a lot of the time and use those instances as teaching opportunities.

We’ve been here three days and haven’t seen anything like that but I’m also the kind of person that would get the attention of a cast member if people were out of control/stumbling drunk. The cast members will have people escorted out if it’s seriously out of control and disruptive.
1162
Poisoned Apple
Eww yeah we’ve been fortunate especially since both my husband and our son have extremely weak stomachs and just hearing/seeing someone get sick and they’re vomiting too. Lol it’d be a real mess. Lol

Dianarenee
Yeah we also told a cm but I’m not sure if they were escorted out or not, the girl had went for another round of beers and the line moved up pretty fast, he was waiting at the entrance of the ride for her when we passed through thank god I didn’t want to be thrown up on and neither did the family, it would have been a mess we would have all been sick and throwing up!

Oh the garbage thing kills me! I stopped several parents last night during trick or treat because their kids were dropping candy wrappers and there’s just no excuse for that. There’s a garbage can every 10-20ft for Pete’s sake! And I see adults do it too. I’ll tap them and hand it to them “excuse me, you dropped this”. Lol

Disneyland 4-Life
Pretty sure that if Disneyland keeps going the way it is. It’s going to be just like all the other theme parks. Wish they kept it the way it was. But still love my Disneyland

i do not understand why they feel the need to sell alcohol at the parks. it increases the chance of trouble and like previous posts, the chance of people throwing up in line or on the rides ugh! if people can't handle a day at the park without alcohol then maybe they should just stay home where they won't be a hazard on the road

Matterhorn girl
I totally agree it's a family place family family family do the drinking someplace else

Even if Disney didn't sell alcohol, that wouldn't stop rude guests from being obnoxious and loud. It wouldn't stop fights from breaking out. Disney sees millions of guests a year. Sometimes certain guests are douches. You might encounter them or hear them. Not selling alcohol wont stop vomiting either. Some people might throw up in line because of motion sickness or catching a bug. Things happen at a theme parks. You can't let it ruin your day at Disney. CMs do their best to keep everyone happy and clean but there's only so much they can do.

also not selling alcohol in the parks isn't going to stop people who are already drunk getting in the parks? I can go and get wasted at a bar and then make my merry little way to disneyland for way cheaper then if I were to get drunk on the inevitably watered down adult beverages the parks offer? in the 20 years I have been visiting the parks, I have only seen one noticeably drunk person (in disneyland, before CA was even constructed, the only booze in the park would have been at club 33. and I would bet my actual soul that this man was NOT a member!) and they were promptly escorted out of the park. So I really don't see an issue here? also the garbage thing, other then spilled popcorn (which is always taken care of within minutes) I've never noticed trash on the ground, or overflowing trashcans? maybe it's just my disney goggles, but I really dont see any of the stuff people always complain about in the parks, like dirty bathrooms, trash, or hoards of violent drunks...

you don't have to be rude, the thread is asking peoples opinions and they simply stated theirs as you have.

Poisoned Apple
You know Matterhorn Girl, I’ve been trying to give you the benefit of a doubt but you are truly an intolerant person. Why attack people for having a different opinion/experience? I said as much in my post a few days ago that even if it weren’t sold in the park, it’s easily obtainable in DTD so there’s no way of policing it. You’ve had bad experiences but now I’m beginning to wonder if you don’t search out the negativity so you can browbeat people into agreeing with you. We were there four days, I saw nothing of what you saw and I don’t have Disney Goggles so perhaps you just look for the bad because you’ve already set your mind to it happening and want to justify your own belief that it’s running rampant through the parks because Disney allows alcohol sales in the park.

Agreed Poisoned Apple and Evil Queen. I saw that reply earlier and it was very childish and rude. Disneyland isn't turning into the vegas strip. If you see a bad guest just politely tell a CM and move on. You're at Disneyland. There is no shortage of magic, rides, shows, places to go etc. Things happen at theme parks but it's up to us to make the most of our time at Disney.

Evil Queen, Poisoned Apple and piratequeenRavel, I feel exactly the same as all of you. I was just there for 9 days and the park was beautiful the guests were happy and friendly. Millions of people visit these parks you are bound to encounter all kinds of things but seriously don’t be rude to others because we saw the magic instead of whatever you saw. This blog is to desired to be fun helpful and supportive. If your too negative to see that why are you on it

Evil Queen
in my opinion alcohol itself is not the problem. the problem is rude and disrespectful people who dont care about the other people around them who are trying to enjoy their vacations weather it be by getting drunk, cutting lines or talking/taking pictures on rides. rude and disrespectful people are everywhere including here.and to me thats where the real problem lies.

The cool thing about Disneyland is that for every rude and disrespectful person you encounter you will be guaranteed to encounter the next several who are so engrossed in the magic you cant help but quickly feel it too.

Alcohol IS the problem with a lot of these incidents. People do things they would not normally do when under the influence.

And I totally agree with you Sophiet1 !!!

Happens everywhere unfortunately, if they want it they will find it. My two cents.

don't play the victim matterhorn girl, you are a grown woman who tries to bully people. It is sad and not what this app is for. you should get a Facebook. we get it, you hate everything and anyone who disagrees with you will be told how stupid they are. your rude comments have been deleted but those of us that saw them know the truth. it isnt that hard to politely state your opinion and move on. Im sure you will have a rude and childish response for this just know I don't care, you are a mean old lady with nothing better to do.

Evil Queen is probably one-off the the most thoughtful and caring people on this blog. I’ve never in all my years on this site ever seen her as anything but honest and kind. You really need to take a step back and see yourself the way a huge majority are. We can’t all be wrong
7600
Evil Queen
wait what happened to your other comments? did you read them and see what everyone else sees. and just to point out there was nothing rude in twinkerbells comment and none of it was directed at you. new people come here for help planning their vacation and join in on the fun. when you attack them and run them off they miss out on valuable information to help them have a well planned vacation
7600
Evil Queen
and I do apologize for calling you a mean old lady, some opinions should be kept to ones self but I do not apologize for calling you a bully because that IS what you are.

Matterhorn girl
I don't care to be on here with a bunch of mean hateful people you've attacked other people I've seen in the past because you didn't agree with them you have a nice day and have lots and lots of fun

Sophiet1
I agree with you Matterhorn girl, there does seem to be a certain few who seem to gang up on others if they don't agree with what they say or have a different opinion. Now I'll be the target haha, but all good I still enjoy reading the posts on this site.
268
Matterhorn girl
Thanks Sophiet1, that's too bad grown-ups have to act like that you can't say anything that they don't agree with or they attack you and call you names. oh well I'll just have fun going to Disneyland next week. Thanks for seeing what I see and have a great day

PirateQueenRaval
Matterhorn girl you can't call other people childish and rude when you yourself previously posted a (now deleted) response mocking Twinklebell for adding another fact to the discussion about alcohol in the parks. You posted "wow I guess you're one of the bad guests. glad you told us" and ended it with "I guess you told us huh. and where to I buy Disney goggles. LOL" People can have differnces of opinion but you choose to be childish first and got called out for it.
268
Matterhorn girl
See nobody was even talking to you but yet you jump right on here to attack me . that's just what I was talking about. that's too bad I feel sorry for you but you have a nice day
1526
PirateQueenRaval
I am not interested in attacking your beliefs. I am merely pointing out your hypocrisy in this sub. Twinklebell simply stated out that if a person wanted to be drunk at Disneyland, they would find a way to do so. Then you posted the response mocking them. Up until that time no one was attacking your personal experience at Disneyland. They were countering the argument that if Disney stopped selling alcohol it would magically solve all rude guests problems which is allowed on this sub. People called you out for specifically after you posted that rude response and now you're crying foul about it. You can post your personal experiences and thoughts but you crossed the line first. I respect you don't like alcohol being served in the parks. I do not respect your childish behavior towards Twinklebell and other posters here.

I have never seen a drunk person their. In fact I have never seen any of the problems I have read about here. But then I don’t look for the bad I just enjoy being their.

Well said Mickey Bound I agree

We have been here all week, hopping back and forth between Parks. We have not seen anyone drunk in either Park or in DTD. We have seen sober rude. Alcohol is not the problem. people who are rude, will be rude anywhere.

I think a lot of people probably drink before going into the parks either at their hotel or at the bars in DTD. It would cost a lot of money to get drunk on the drinks they serve inside the park. Plus it's 2 drinks per person and it takes like 20-30 minutes to get through the drink line

Kabrina
as long as people are responsible and respectful in the parks when they drink I really don't care we go there to have fun and for the kids to see their favorite hero's. mickey and Minnie being the most important I don't see the major issue each person has their own way of having fun let it be
