Disney world or Disneyland and why?

Having been to both Parks on numerous occasions, I love Disneyland the best. I still feel Walt's presence there. The last time we were at WDW, was it bigger, with more things to do and see? Yes. But, we encountered some extremely rude cast members, who made the experience ugly. I'm talking about in every park, so rude, that just thinking about brings my blood to boil. I made sure I let them know about what we saw and experienced. We have always had a wonderful time at DL. Will be heading back the 1st week of November, and we were just there in May.

I love both for different reasons. DL for nostalgia but I love DW for their new rides and queue lines. Some of the DL/DCA rides are better than DW like Pirates, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, The monorail, the Railroad, Big Thunder Mountain, RSR, Guardians of the Galaxy and the overlays done during the season. DW however has some great rides like Expedition Everest, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Dwarves Mine Train, The Tower of Terror was better than the one that was at DCA, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid queue lines, & Pandora

Senior Mickey & Menehune..How was the transportation from the hotel to the parks? Did you stay at one of the Disney Resorts?

We have been to both, but prefer Disneyland. We have concluded that DL is about quality while WDW is about quantity. One of the most annoying things is that AP holders are treated way better in DL; you would think it would be equal. We have stayed on and off property at WDW. Busses, monorail (gets really crowded at closing time), boats are all good for getting where you want to go, but you are at their mercy, so you have to plan far enough in advance to arrive at a specific location especially if you have dining reservations.

Thank you GoldenMel...we are wanting to visit Disney World but worry about the transportation. I think we are spoiled at how convenient everything is at Disneyland!

Minnie - it's worth going, but if you have never been, I would recommend getting a book like Birnbaum's Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and working with someone like MPT. The entire resort is the size of San Francisco and can be overwhelming if you're not prepared. Park hopping takes on a new meaning here vs DL. About equal numbers recommend vs not. My suggestion is to save the cost and take any shorter days to catch up on sleep.

GoldenMel....I have been reading the Birnbaum book and that is when I started to worry about the transportation! Thank you for all the good info! If we go it will be our first time and I want to make sure we are prepared so we will be able to have a 'magical' time! Thanks again GoldenMel! °o°

You're welcome, Minnie!

Minnie, we usually stay at Shades of Green, the military hotel. They have their own bus schedule. We usually skip over to the Monorail station at the Polynesian to get to the Magic Kingdom and/or EPCOT, and take the Shades busses to Animal Kingdom, the Studios, and the water parks.
